3º Festival Internacional de Música Experimental

3º Festival Internacional de Música Experimental

Call for proposals:

  1. FIME will receive proposals for artistic performances until July 30th, 2017. After this date, the curators will assess the received proposals and contact the proponents of the selected proposals. The availability for participating in the Festival will have to be confirmed.
  2. The call is open to any person or group from any locality, any age, without any kind of restriction.
  3. FIME will accept proposals for musical performances, as well as sound installations, happenings and whichever format the applicants consider appropriated. If the applicant has a preference for some specific space configuration or any specific needs, it should be informed in the proposal. Preferably, the proposed musical performances should last between 20 and 45 minutes. Proposals with other durations will be considered, but their inclusion in the Festival programming will depend on viability in the schedule.
  4. The production intends, as in the previous editions, to provide a financial support for the participants. Unfortunately, due to funds not yet confirmed, we are not able to inform in this call the exact amount to be paid for each selected proposal, as in the previous editions. The amount will be informed when we contact the selected participants.
  5. Additional funds will not be provided (for travel, accommodation or any other costs that artists may have). However, the production of the event can provide invitation letters to the participants of the Festival, so that aid for funds may be obtained from other sources. The production of the event can also assist participants searching for accommodation in Sao Paulo and, to the extent of its possibilities, on other necessities of the participants.
  6. Entries will be conducted exclusively online, through the email: fime2017sp@gmail.com.
  7. Entries should contain:
    1. a file (preferably pdf) with name(s) of the participant(s), contact information (email and phone), text about the proposed performance, technical needs (list of equipment) and biographical information (optional);
    2. links to sound or audiovisual material related to the proposed presentation (in the case of a work not yet presented, links to other works relevant to the assessment of the proposal in question);
    3. other materials that the proponent considers appropriate (scores, sketches, images, etc.);
    4. if the curators consider necessary, additional information or clarification on the submitted proposals may be requested.
  8. The curators decision will rely on the following criteria: artistic diversity; diversity of means; diversity of origins of the proposals; artistic relevance and quality.
  9. The curators will have total autonomy deciding who will be invited to the Festival, following the above mentioned criteria.
  10. The invited artists will be required to confirm their participation in the Festival within seven days after the invitation, through email. If that does not happen, the production of the event will invite some other participant of this call.
